Ask yourself these 6 questions this Christmas
Where were you last year?
What were you doing?
What were you thinking of?
Did you think of today?
Did you picture yourself at the place you are right now?
Did you know you would be this happy and did it content you?
I am a convent student and Christmas holds a special place in my heart. It is the only festival that I feel motivated to enjoy and so I have watched every movie that ever surrounded Christmas. And overtime, I have learnt what Christmas is all about.
Superficially, every festival is somewhat an excuse for the loved ones to gather around, to see each other, to talk, offline. But Christmas is as much about the internal happiness as it is about external. It talks about the mental life as much as it does about social. It deals with your personal growth as much as it does about your fiscal.
That is what I like about Christmas. You don’t buy patakhe, you don’t buy gulal, and you don’t even have to buy any Christmas tree. All you need is a hot coffee, a warm blanket, a good book and nothing else. You think of the time passed by. You think of the time that is to come. You think of the time you are in right now and you connect the dots.
Christmas, I believe is a milestone to judge yourself without contemplating on your actions. You need find the good and savor it, you need to find the bad and discard it, all with a smile on the face and determination in your heart.
So ask yourself these things this Christmas
“Where was I last year?”
“What was I doing?”
“What was I thinking of?”
“Did I think of today?”
“Did I picture yourself at the place I am right now?”
“Did I know that I would be this happy and did it content me?”
